Splitrail Farm is a residential subdivision in Kane County, Illinois. The subdivision was developed by Karlas Corporation. Philip Coleman Associates managed the development and later purchased the remaining land to complete the development in five phases.

The Splitrail Farm Property Owners Association (SFPOA) was formed in March, 1979, when legal papers of incorporation were filed with Kane County.

Splitrail Farm is nestled in the Northeast corner of Campton Township in a valley that was once home to pigs, cows, and cattle. The farm produced hemp for the manufacture of rope during the war effort of the Second World War. Corn, soy bean, and sod are some of the agricultural products that were subsequently grown until the property was developed into its current usage of the subdivision.

The open space that is generously designed into the subdivision gives a feeling of openness without crowding of homes, and is conducive to wild life such as foxes, rabbits deer, opossum, geese, ducks, and many other visiting wild life through out the year.

For the enjoyment of property owners in Splitrail Farm, the SFPOA hosts a spring and fall bonfire that is attended by old and young.

The average lot size is one and half acres, with some as large as three acres. Combined with the open spaces, many lots have private back yards that give residents a feeling of tranquility from the busy day to day life, yet location of the subdivision provides easy access to nationally recognized shopping such as Target, Home Depot, Best Buy, Staples, Jewel, Wal-Mart, and others as well as boutique stores in South Elgin, Wasco, St. Charles, and Geneva.
